Chevalier Talks Tech, Introduces News Machines at EMO

From Sept. 16-21, EMO Hannover, widely regarded as the world’s largest and most important trade show for the metalworking industry, was the epicenter for the exhibition of new and diverse machines, ranging from turning, drilling, boring, milling, transfer, grinding, tool grinding, gear cutting and finishing, sawing and cutting-off, and screwing and threading. Also featured were flexible manufacturing cells and systems. About 117,000 production specialists from 150 countries convened this year in Hannover, Germany. The exchange of industrial know-how and networking events benefited the entire machine tool industry.
EMO Hannover has a strong international profile. More than half of all attendees came from abroad, split almost evenly between other European countries and overseas. A 20 percent increase in overseas attendance in 2019 compared with the last show in 2017 was particularly impressive.

This year at EMO, Chevalier's Edward Chang, director of R&D, shed light on Smart manufacturing on a panel hosted by TAUTRA

CHEVALIER HIGHLIGHTS
Several discussions with Chevalier customers at EMO Hannover 2019 covered interconnection of all systems. Chevalier is excited to offer the SMART iControl with HMI and iMCS software for data collection. This allows our customers comprehensive remote monitoring from anywhere in the world, avoiding downtime and increasing productivity.
Chevalier connected with our existing customers and distributors from all over the world to share the latest machining trends. We also exhibited two of our newest grinding machines: the FSG-1640AF and FMG-B1224. Our discussions revealed that both machines are aligned with our customers’ needs.
Regardless of the economy, the inquiries where optimistic, with savvy professionals looking for SMART technologies. In addition to the engaging conversations about our customers’ needs, we generated several new leads and met with long-standing partners.
The level of visitor interest at our booth this year was incredible. EMO once again lived up to its status as a future-oriented platform for the machine tool industry. This fair always represents the ideal venue for Chevalier to present our latest innovations and technology before an enthusiastic audience of manufacturing specialists.
SPOTLIGHT
Thread Grinding
At EMO 2019, Chevalier exhibited an example of a customer’s Thread Die workpiece showing how our grinding machines’ rigidity and lack of vibration are key elements in manufacturing these quality parts. Thread grinding is still one of the most accurate ways to produce internal and external threads. This caught the attention of agents and customers, especially those in South Africa who after some discussion with our application engineers at the booth regarding machine model and grinding methods placed orders during the exhibition.

The future of smart manufacturing is here! Chevalier is proud to present the iMachine Communications System™ solution; the system collects and integrates data from different machine controllers* and monitors the tasks and processes remotely. That means you will save physical time being in front of machines, reduce production time by monitoring on one device and foresee the wear and tear with live data. When the technology is evolving, so is Chevalier to provide you the best solution.
*Controllers vary depending on regions and may be subject to change without notice or obligation.
